Background for self-disclosure People Living with HIV Aids to significant others via whatsapp.

Note: This is my final project completion for the bachelor of communication

KPA (AIDS Commission) region of Yogyakarta Special Region in a report published through the pages of its website that as of June 2016 noted by sex as much as 3,334 cases of HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) and 1,314 cases of AIDS (Acquired Immunodefficiency Syndrome) in the province include the whole district and the town itself.[1] Therefore, for the sake of doing countermeasures against the spread of the HIV virus formed foundations for community outreach. In addition, other countermeasures in the form of treatment for people living with HIV was the same as performed by various foundations. One of them is the foundation Victory Plus is located on the road tunggorono 38, Demangan Baru, Yogyakarta. The action was launched by the foundation not only on access to treatment for people living with HIV, but also shaped the moral and social support so that people living with HIV still be able to live an optimistic life as much as anyone else. Known as a peer support group that has one purpose which is to convince people living with HIV to willing to do therapy and stay in touch with the wider community. Either they dare to disclose their HIV exposure or not.
In preliminary research that has been done at the end of 2016. Found some people with hiv aids shrunken guts to get in touch with the surrounding environment. Instead of engaging in the community, they would judge ourselves by confining themselves within a certain time. One person with the initials AP hiv aids for example. He was unable to meet with the public and shut themselves so knowing he was positive exposure to the HIV virus. Although it is not only the AP that opened the gap with the public. But many people living with HIV are feeling optimistic after receiving support from peer support groups. In fact, quite a few dared to also open their HIV exposure status in front of the public at large. One of them is a woman identified as ASP exposed since mid 2011 and opened her status in front of dozens of mothers in a socialization of HIV / Aids in Semarang, a year after he is aware of his status. Not only ASP, namely Mg which also has opened her status since a long time. In fact it has agreed to be interviewed by various media and researchers.
Departing from some of the finding above, the authors focused on the courage of HIV-positive people to open up to people in their environment. Of course, self-disclosure impact on the sustainability of their relationships with relatives, friends, neighbors, even family. In the communication, self-disclosure is to review the various reward and cost that will happen, according to the expectations of people living with HIV. Obviously, what the decision of people living with HIV will get a response both verbal and non-verbal. Both positive and negative at the beginning of the journey to the relationship. Afterwards, people living with HIV will certainly respond back to the feedback of others with a statement or question.
Therefore, it takes good communication among people living with HIV to others. This will link them together in order to build understanding. Departing from the statutes that many people know that HIV-positive people have the opportunity to feel pressured and cornered.[2] Construction of shared meaning it can run within the framework of mass communication, public, interpersonal communication, as well as in intercultural framework. The relationship was not without cause. A connection is established because of the interaction and mutual understanding, relations within the framework of personal and social.[3] Which of course every party has the capacity and contributes to continuously update the quality of the relationship with the thinking and communicating. Up to each party to understand the meaning of a relationship and how well established the relationship.
As an intermediary or medium of communication seen how we view media and culture as well as our social life contributes to the use of technology. In addition, through the new media anyway we form a relationship through online or face to face. Relationships can be analogous to the 'game' and evaluated in a process, reconsideration, and thoughts. It then encourages people to think about the future of the relationship. With this, social media or social networking and communication links can be seen as a form of communication behavior. One was the use of online communication medium whatsapp as the result of technological advances.
Interest to undertake this work is given that the stigma against people living with HIV status tends to be negative. While education or socialization related to people living with HIV and its transmission is still not optimal. In addition, the authors assess the importance of this study because of the openness of people living with HIV will be his status publicly clear response. The response certainly affect people living with HIV and its own public relationship. Because communication connects people. It becomes important to know the motives of the behavior of their communications so that a good relationship can still be maintained. As people with hiv aids expecting their identity both cultural and social awake as everyone else.
